Data protection at Zaunkoenig
By using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) we prevent third parties from stealing your data. You can easily identify if a website uses SSL by looking for a small lock sign in the address bar.
Domain hoster and web hoster
Our domain hoster is Google and our web hoster is Firebase. Firebase will automatically store information that your browser transmits to zaunkoenig.co: date and time of your visit, browser type and version, operating system, host name as well as IP address.
We will not merge this data with other data sources. Based on Art. 6 GDPR we can use data that is necessary to fulfill a contract or pre-contract measures.
Data from emails, including your contact data, will be saved in order to being able to answer your request as well as being able to answer follow-up questions. We will not give this data to third parties without your consent. You can order us to delete this data at any point.
We use the US company Buttondown for newsletters. We only save your email address. We do not give your email address to third parties. We do not track whether you open one of our newsletters or click on links in that newsletter. You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time.
We use Shopify for our webshop. For all customers from the EU Shopify will use its Ireland location. However some personal data can be processed in Canada, where Shopify is from. Shopify needs some technical cookies to function, however we do not use Shopifys marketing cookies on top of that. It should go without saying, but without some basic data like your name (though I learned just recently that when you order in a webshop you can do so under with made-up names like «Superman»; all the shipping company really needs to deliver a parcel is your address) and address we cannot sell mice in our webshop (this is called fulfillment of our legal obligations, see Art. 6 GDPR). Our webshop is not meant for children under 16 years of age.
Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR)
If you think our data protection is lacking, you can contact the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information in Baden-Württemberg.
Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
You can order us to give you all the data that we have on you.
Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
We will not automatically delete your emails or your order history after a certain amount of time. You can order us however to show you all of the data we have on you, where we have it from and why we saved this data in the first place. If necessary you can order us to rectify this data. Further you can order us to delete all the data we have on you at any point. Last but not least you can order us to not use your data. Note though that due to legal obligations we have to keep certain types of data, like invoices, for 10 years.
